About

Scott McGrath is a therapist and life coach working with individuals and couples. He has extensive experience with adolescents, young adults and adults facing challenges in all life stages. Scott works with clients from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds as well as those who identify as LGBQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual or queer).

For five years, Scott was a faculty member at Seneca College in Toronto, working in the Counseling and Disability Office, serving students challenged by mental illness and/or learning disabilities.

Approach

Scott draws upon a proven combination of coaching and therapy. His perspective as a therapist provides clients with important insights and interventions in overcoming barriers to achieving their goals, while his emphasis on coaching helps clients to focus on their strengths while setting goals and developing strategies to achieve them. As both a coach and therapist, Scott’s talents ultimately lead people to greater success.

Qualifications

Scott holds a Master’s of Social Work (M.S.W.) from the University of Toronto. He is a registered Social Worker (R.S.W.) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers and a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers. He is certified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (University of Toronto & Hinks Dellcrest), eCounseling (University of Toronto and Therapy Online), and Coaching for Leadership (Adler Institute).  Scott has also completed several courses in Solution Focused Therapy (University of Toronto).
