Sometimes in life we encounter difficult situations that require a more thorough understanding of ourselves and how we interact with others. Like coaching, therapy is concerned with the ‘here and now’ and the impact the present has on our future.
Unlike coaching, however, therapy is also concerned with how the past and our emotional states effect what we’re doing in the present and can do in the future.
A good therapist will encourage and empower you to examine a variety of factors that influence your current situation. Your time together should provide you with a calm and supportive space in which you’re able to connect with your challenges and strengths. Effective therapy will help you to mobilize these strengths in order to increase your daily happiness and move towards a life of enriching experiences and meaningful relationships.
Scott has worked with clients to successfully:
- Learn and implement Cognitive Behavioural Therapy strategies in combating negative thought patterns (i.e. self-doubt, intrusive fear, feelings of worthlessness/helplessness, catastrophizing, pessimism, etc…);
- Recognize the ‘bright spots’ or moments of exceptional positive functioning and understand how to create more of these;
- Work through shame, guilt, anger or fear related to past negative experiences;
- Understand their strengths and how to capitalize on these;
- Develop a stronger sense of self and accept all aspects of their identity.
Scott provides convenient and confidential services via phone, skype or email. Clients benefit from working with Scott in the comfort of their own home or office and can continue uninterrupted when travel takes them further afield.
